Date of Annual AGM announced
The Ringwood Chamber of Trade and Commerce Annual General Meeting is to be held
on Wednesday 5th March 2008. The venue will be the Town and Country Museum with
a start time of 6.30 pm. Further details will follow shortly.

Ringwood Chamber Skittle to Success
Ringwood Chamber's final Social Networking event of the year left attendees
bowled over with the night's activities. The last Wednesday of November saw the
Ringwood Chamber Social Networking Christmas Party and Skittles Evening take
place at The Royal Oak in North Gorley. The new venue for the evening took in a
skittles tournament among those invited. Members and guests were placed in mixed
teams to encourage conversation and camaraderie in the face of the opposition. More...
Sustainable Business Roadshow Cancelled
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Sustainable Business Partnership, bringing
its Sustainable Business Roadshow to Ringwood Town and Country Experience on the
morning of Thursday 22nd November 2007, has been postponed due to lack of
response.

David Lloyd Pool Revolution
The revolutionary new £300,000 pool enclosure at the David Lloyd Club will be
opened on Monday December 10th by the Ringwood Mayor, Brian Terry and the son of
David Lloyd, Scott Lloyd. The David Lloyd Aqua Club are giving a demonstration,
as are a group of synchronised swimmers. After the midday opening the pool will

NFBP Brilliance in Business Seminars
Small and newly formed businesses in the New Forest will have an opportunity
to improve their business skills for free at the Brilliance in Business Seminars
to be held at Brockenhurst College on 24th October between 3-7pm
Throughout the afternoon, a series of eight seminars will be delivered on key
business topics. Seminars will last for just 40 minutes each allowing businesses
to attend up to four sessions during the afternoon. All seminars will be
delivered by expert speakers with topics including Search engine optimisation;
Finding a grant for your business; Marketing without a budget and Starting your
own Business.
In addition to the seminars, speakers will be available to answer individual
queries in the exhibition area. Exhibitors will be available throughout the
afternoon so should individuals be unable to attend any of the seminars,
specific questions can still be answered.
The event will conclude with a networking buffet allowing like-minded businesses
to exchange knowledge and ideas as well as providing an opportunity for further
discussion with the seminar speakers.
New Forest Business Partnership Chairman Barry Olorenshaw said "The
Brilliance in Business Seminars offer local businesses an excellent opportunity
to become more efficient, better informed, and more successful. The format
allows businesses to attend those workshops appropriate to them as well as
having their individual business queries answered".

New Forest Brilliance in Business Awards 2007
The second annual award scheme specifically for businesses in the New Forest
district aims to celebrate the achievements for business in the area and
highlight good practice. The project was launched at the New Forest Business
Partnership’s autumn networking event by the Hon Ralph Montagu whose family
owns the Beaulieu Estate, one of the most successful and well known New Forest
businesses.
The award ceremony will take place in November and there will be one overall
winner of the New Forest Brilliance in Business Awards and winners of six
individual categories. These will include recognition of successful companies
which show high levels of achievement within their core business and in a number
of specialist areas including investing in the workforce, enterprise and
innovation, entrepreneurship, contribution to the community and customer

Brian's Belles Brighten Business
Brian Terry made a welcome appearance at the Ringwood Chamber Social
Networking evening on 18th July. Sporting the Mayoral Chain of Office Brian soon
had a bevy of beauties by his side but business was the order of the day. Brian
is very keen to bring new businesses to the town and he aired some ideas which
were discussed with enthusiasm. Jaqui Terry, the Mayoress of Ringwood, also
joined the discussion with her delightful charm and wit, keeping the men folk
entertained.
Brian said "I've enjoyed this evening and Ringwood has a lot to offer
business but where did you get all these lovely girls?" More...

Oak Exports Expertise
Furlong Furniture in the Furlong Centre Ringwood has recently had a rush of
business exporting goods to the Channel Islands, France, Spain, Switzerland,
Italy and even bunk beds to New York.
Said owner David Smith “ We offer a very special delivery service and this
year we have been surprised by the number of overseas deliveries we are making.
We are exporting to each of the main four Channel Islands on a regular basis and
to most of Europe and occasionally to the States." More...

Edward Jones Take The Trophy
Ringwood Chamber of Trade and Commerce faced tough competition at the Annual Greyfriars Corporate
Quiz night on Wednesday 2nd May. Various companies from Ringwood took part in what has become an annual event. The event passed off with
the familiar ribaldry and good humour among the teams and the competition saw
the emergence of Edward Jones as this year's winners.

transformation in recent months. Ringwood's leading hair salon has been

Junior Vice President for Ringwood Chamber
With the growing interest among schools in the current trend of business
programmes being aired on television, like "Dragon's Den" and "The
Apprentice", Ringwood Chamber decided to open up the position of Junior
Vice President to one of Ringwood's young adults. Ringwood School had the
perfect applicant for the role in Natalie Lelliott who, as a sixth former, has
her eye firmly set on entering business after university. More...

Corporate Battles in Ringwood - again!
Ringwood Chamber of Trade and Commerce will be facing tough competition at the Annual Greyfriars Corporate
